Where We Got The Idea: My son will have nothing to do with the alphabet. He won’t sing it, play matching games or trace letters. All he wants to do is build and create. That was my entry point to get him to learn letter formation. These kinesthetic and tactile activities also aid in his development by:

  • Fine motor skills

  • Muscle memory

  • Critical Thinking… just to name a few.

How To Do It: I created a letter bag that held everything he needed to build and create letters in one place. I found everything I needed around the house: yarn, play-doh, paint, legos, crayons, construction paper etc. Then I consulted Ms. Broughton’s YouTube channel. I found her site randomly by doing a letter activity search. I highly recommend watching her videos with your child. She is fun and engaging. She will take you and your child through a lesson that you can easily do on your own in the future.

What tactic techniques do you use at home with you kids?
